About Bremerton Toastmasters
Our club has speakers of all abilities and backgrounds. Toastmasters is about having the opportunity to improve your public speaking, leadership, and communication skills in a fun and supportive environment.
A typical meeting is opened by the club president who, after presiding over the clubs administrative business, will turn control over to another member who will serve as the Toastmaster for the meeting, who is akin to the master of ceremonies. The Toastmaster will keep the meeting on time and on track and introduce the other speakers for the meeting.
At each meeting one or two speeches are given by members or guests from other clubs. Speeches are brief, usually 5 to 10 minutes in length. A speech can be serious or humorous, informative, or opinionated, and can be about any subject. Each speaker will also have an evaluator who will provide feedback to the speaker.
Another fun activity at each meeting is Table Topics. Table Topics are questions or statements to which the chosen speaker must make a impromptu response lasting just a minute or two. Table Topics helps us practice thinking on our feet and gives everyone a chance to speak at every meeting.
If you need to improve your public speaking skills, or would like an opportunity to participate in public speaking contests and other activities, Toastmasters is what you are looking for. You are always invited to join us as a guest at our next meeting.

Leaders are good communicators. Leadership is the art of persuading others to do what you wish to be done. To do so, you need to communicate, and you need to work as a team. In a Toastmasters club, you’ll do both.
